Day 2 - Sunday - Lecce
Breakfast and meeting with a local tour guide at Piazza Sant'Oronzo. From here you will start discovering Lecce on a walking tour that will allow you to discover one of the most fascinating and elegant cities in southern Italy. The characteristic streets of the historic center host wonderful palaces and churches built in the Baroque style, which here assumes a local connotation, in fact it is called "Baroque of Lecce" because the decorations are made with local stone and not in gold, as in other places. Walking, it will be possible to observe the papier-mâché masters working on their sculptures.Free lunch and afternoon.
3 day - Monday - Monopoli, Alberobello
Breakfast and check-out. Departure for Monopoli by train. Free morning. Check-in in B&B in historic center.In the afternoon you will find a minivan waiting you, that will bring you to visit visit Alberobello.The town, a UNESCO heritage site since 1996, boasts the highest concentration of Trulli, typical rural stone buildings. It will be like being immersed in a fairy tale, in a fairy city, unique in the world. The guide will accompany you to discover the two historic districts and the Trullo Church. At the end of the visit you will taste typical local products.Return to Monopoli. Free afternoon. (1 night)
4 Day - Tuesday - Bari
Breakfast and check-out and departure by train to Bari. A tour guide will be waiting for you at the Swabian castle and together you will continue towards the historic center called "Bari vecchia". Here time seems to have stopped: children who are helping out on the street and women preparing "orecchiette" handmade pasta. You will visit the Cathedral of San Sabino and the Basilica of San Nicola and the characteristic streets. You will finish the visit with a focaccia tasting.Free afternoon. 5 Day - Wednesday - Trani, Castel del Monte
Breakfast and departure by train to Trani. In Piazza Plebiscito a rickshaw bike will be waiting for you with a guide who will lead you to the discovery of "the pearl of the Adriatic". On board the rickshaw you can admire the Swabian castle, commissioned by Emperor Frederick II and the famous Cathedral on the sea in the Apulian Romanesque style. You will then enter the Jewish quarter "La Giudecca" where there are 2 synagogues from the 12th century. The guide will take you to the driver who will take you to the Castel del Monte, a UNESCO site and one of the most fascinating and mysterious places in Puglia. The guide will take you inside making a leap into the past in the Middle Ages, when Emperor Frederick II, called "Stupor mundi" commissioned him. Return to Bari. Free evening
6 Day - Thursday - Matera
Breakfast and transfer to Matera. Here you will meet the guide and begin the guided tour of one of the most fascinating cities of Southern Italy, a UNESCO site and the European Capital of Culture 2019. You will start from Piazza Vittorio Veneto where you will find the most beautiful view on the Sassi and from where you can see the weaving of alleys. You will continue to discover the two oldest quarters "Sasso Barisano and Sasso Caveoso" and the cathedral from which you can admire the Park of the Murgia Materana, characterized by ravines and Mediterranean scrub. The historic center of Matera is also characterized by the presence of rock churches and cave houses, where the inhabitants lived until the beginning of the 20th century. Return to Bari. Free evening
